Our Mission

The California electric grid cannot physically expand fast enough to allow electrification to proceed at the rate needed to meet climate goals.

In order for California to meet climate goals over the next 20 years, we HAVE to enable our existing grid infrastructure to move double or triple the energy it does today. This will require many thousands of grid-connected batteries absorbing excess energy when there is a surplus from renewable sources, and discharging energy when demand outstrips supply.

Our mission is to accelerate the deployment of high performance, grid-connected battery systems across California. With each system we install and operate, we increase the grid’s ability to balance supply and demand. Our goal is to contribute 1.0 Gigawatt of “grid balancing” battery resources by 2035.  If we can meet our goal, we can substantially improve the pace of electrification of the world’s 5th largest economy.  This is going to take the support of 85,000 PG&E homeowners over the next decade.

    Electrical engineer and leader passionate about addressing climate change. Shifted focus in 2023 to work on climate. I started Potrero Energy to accelerate residential decarbonization in a way that maximally benefits the grid. The more we can help the grid, the more we can accelerate electrification across all segments of the world’s 5th largest economy.

    Experienced, licensed electrician with over 10 years of experience in the solar and storage industry all over Northern California. I pride myself on high-quality work with a very clean, professional aesthetic. I’ve always been motivated to do work that helps with the climate crisis - it makes it very easy to get up in the morning.

    Moved to San Francisco from Copenhagen, where I worked in external affairs for one of the worlds largest energy companies. I was part of Denmark’s largest carbon capture and storage project which remains on trajectory to be a major milestone for the country.
